CHANGES AT WILLIAM JOHNSTON & COMPANY LIMITED
On 1st March Craig McKnight left the Company as planned. We wish to record our thanks to Craig for his contribution to the running of the Company over the last ten years, the last five as a Director, and also wish him and his family well in their new life in Australia.
Richard McKnight continues as Chairman of the Company, dealing mainly with our key customers and suppliers in England and further afield whom he visits on a regular basis. He also represents the Company on the professional and trade bodies of which we are members and is continuously looking for new opportunities to expand the Company .
On 1st March Sandy McEwen became Managing Director, Mrs Fiona McEwen became Director/Company Secretary and Mrs Margaret Murchie, after 17 years with the Company, also became a Director.
Over the last year, Craig Edwards, in his role as Business Development Manager, based in Glasgow, as well as looking after the majority of our Scottish customers has expanded his responsibilities to include customers in England and Ireland. Craig’s enthusiastic efforts have resulted in attracting a number of new customers.
Robert Dawson has stepped up to Production Manager in Glasgow and will be working closely with Alan Cochrane on internal sales and also with Lawrence Watson to ensure the smooth running of the factory.
Our Inverness branch, under the supervision of our Branch Manager John Love and Assistant Manager Billy Hardie , continues to go from strength to strength with 2008 already seeing increased orders from many existing and new customers throughout the Highlands.
